Stamford American International School
The Australian International School (AIS) is a co-educational Preschool to Year 12. Established in 1993, the School has an enviable reputation for its unique pastoral care, academic excellence and wide range of co-curricular offerings.
The philosophy and approaches to learning of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) are central to the whole school. AISS offers the IBO's Primary Years Programmes (PYP) in the Preschool, Junior and Primary Schools; the IBO’s Middle Years Programme (MYP) in the Middle and Senior Schools; and, from January 2011 will be offering the IBO’s Diploma Programme for Years 11-12. The School is also registered with the NSW Board of Studies, delivering the NSW (Australian) curriculum and students can study for the externally examined, pre-university credential of the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (HSC) in Year 12. The Australian International School is pleased to announce the introduction of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) curriculum from January 2013. The 2013 Year 9 cohort will be the first AIS students to study this curriculum.
The quality of curriculum delivery is enhanced by the teaching and learning environment of the purpose-built campus. Modern facilities include state-of-the-art teaching spaces and sporting facilities as well as leading-edge Information Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities. A new Junior School with first-class facilities for early childhood education opened in July 2008. This self-contained campus, adjacent to the existing school, accommodates 960 children from 3-8 years of age. A further addition of a new Senior School wing opened in April 2010. A contemporary design that can house up to 600 students, the Senior School is a comfortable and productive place for students to study and attend classes.
